HelloWorld.show(); An Invitational Exhibition of Source Code // July 31, 2009 - September 12, 2009
The Hidden Language of Machines

A novel is the byproduct of a story being told. Similarly,
source code is a byproduct of communication.
Commercial
transactions and social networking, indirect human interaction:
all of it supported by a largely unseen and unspoken language.

Like the prose of a beloved classic, source code can
be appreciated for both its functional value and the
aesthetic beauty.

HelloWorld.show(); will feature work from programmers across
the world. Source code will be presented in installation pieces,
through projection, print, and other interactive formats. Invited
programmers will consider new methods of display for both
front- and back-end code.

By highlighting each in new ways—in tandem or separately—we
find functional and aesthetic value in the websites and software
we interact with on a daily basis, and the code that makes them
possible.
